Following receiving a claim, the Bulgarian Ombudsperson has inquired the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) for an opinion with respect to providing to the employer detailed information about a medical diagnosis. The CPDP has stated in its opinion that indicating the particular diagnosis in the medical certificate in relation to providing the employer with information about the temporary incapacity is not in breach of General Data Protection Regulation’s requirements and principles.
